After studying at Bolton Institute of Higher Education for a degree in Construction Management and engineering I started my career in construction back in 1995 for a family-owned Preston based building company.

Working predominantly across Lancashire I gained invaluable experience on a vast range of Construction projects as a trainee site engineer then site foreman/assistant site manager. Projects included a huge Sewerage treatment plant, Manchester Royal infirmary refurbishment and new build, Hindu Temple, British Aerospace project, Lancashire farms Young offenders institute, School projects, health centres and a social housing estate. This grounding ensured I quickly gained experience in a very varied amount of construction methods and details. After a priceless five years I moved onto a national family-owned company and got involved with bigger projects across the Northwest that included Office blocks, Secondary Schools, Shopping Centres, Liverpool airport control tower, Staffordshire University accommodation complex, PFI projects, prisons, Social Housing Schemes and housing sites.

For the past ten years I have predominantly been working on housing schemes for both private sales and social housing stock. We moved to Cornwall in 2013 to renovate a 1960s property and build our own house for my wife and son. Not long after moving there was a role to fill coaching my son’s youth football team which I have done now for the past 5 years. In my spare time I enjoy keeping fit and have been known to appear on the local white collar boxing circuit raising money for local charities. I also enjoy golf, cycling and spending quality time with the family.
